scalability

(skā″lă-bi′lĭ-tē)
The ability of a health care system to expand to meet increased demands by users. Although the term can be applied to the ability of health care systems to respond to surges in demand for clinical services, it is most often used to describe how electronic health record software can respond to periodic fluctuations in use.
