Sarcophaga

Sarcophaga
a genus of flesh flies in the family Sarcophagidae that deposit their larvae in wounds or sores.

Sarcophaga carnaria, Sarcophaga dux, Sarcophaga fuscicauda, Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis
the only clinical difference between these species appears to be their geographical distribution.

Regeneration of Sarcophaga imaginal discs in vitro: implication of 20-hydroxyecdysone.
This research was conducted to (1) rear Sarcophaga bullata (blowfly), and observe the metamorphic phases, (2) study the phases of decomposition due to the feeding of the S, bullata on the beef liver, and (3) determine if varied temperature has an effect on the development of S.
domesticus as is the case for certain other insects including Sarcophaga bullata (Wilkins, 1968), Aedes taeniorhyncus (Lea, 1964), and Locusta migratoria (Girardie, 1966).
