SOX1

SOX1

A gene on chromosome 13q34 that encodes a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors, which regulate embryonic development and determine cell fate. SOX1 acts as a transcription activator after forming a complex with other proteins; it may play a role in lens development.

The number of SOX1 -, SOX2- and NES-positive (NPC marker) cells in the NPC population (week 0) was 46%, 68% and 60%, respectively.
A dummy variable SOX1 is set equal to 1 for going private transactions that occurred after SOX and through the end of 2003.
The SOX1 variable is positive and significant (at the 5% level) in all model specifications, consistent with a higher valuation effect after the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act described above.

We have isolated the Hc AAT1 and SOX1 genes and used northern blots and real-time PCR to measure the expression in the yeast and mold morphotypes of Hc.
