the ability of cells, tissues, organs, organisms, chemical compounds, or any other substances to remain unchanged by radiation. Compare radiosensitivity. radioresistant, adj.

resisting the effects of radiation, especially in reference to the treatment of malignancy. adj., adj radioresist´ant.

n the relative resistance of cells, tissues, organs, or organisms to the injurious effects of ionizing radiation. See also radiosensitivity.
