The Durbin-Watson statistics for the ROCF, ROCF1, and ROCF2 equations are 1.
Also, the ROCF1 and ROCF2 equations have more statistically significant variables and generally higher t-statistics than that of the ROCF equation.
The elasticity of ROCF with respect to the various independent variables is important in evaluating the relative impact of the independent variable on ROCF.
An examination of Table 4 reveals that the elasticities of the ROCF model are higher than those of the ROCF1 and ROCF2 models for most of the explanatory variables.
In addition, ROCF must be high enough to cover the costs of leasing track and equipment if they are not owned by the railroad.
