TRAF4

A gene on chromosome 17q11-q21.3 that encodes TNF receptor-associated factor 4, an adapter protein and signal transducer which links members of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family to various signalling pathways. TRAF4 plays a role in JNK activation, in NF-kappaB activation in response to Toll-like receptor signalling, and in regulating cell survival and apoptosis. It is required for normal skeletal and normal respiratory tract development, is required for RPS6KB1 activation in response to TNF signalling, and modulates TRAF6 activities.
