RBL2

A gene on chromosome 16q12.2 that encodes a key regulator of entry into cell division, which is directly involved in heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and that of constitutive heterochromatin by stabilising histone methylation. RBL2 recruits and targets histone methyltransferases SUV420H1 and SUV420H2, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression; it is thought to be a tumour suppresor.

The two Rio Limon sites resemble each other and are found at the other end of the gradient (high BD, low OM, low concentrations of C, N, K, and P), whereas RB2 lies in the middle of this gradient.
The values of C, N, C: N, P, and OM for RB2 were slightly lower than for RBI, but arc consistent with those reported for freshwater herbaceous wetlands (Mitsch and Gosselink 2007; Bantilan-Smith et al.
In our work, Na was not recorded, but it is likely that this ion is present in RB2, due to the presence of K.
This explains the high values of P in RBI and RB2, as these sites have a higher OM content.
