A person who serves as a model in a particular behavioral or social role for another person to emulate.

a person who knowingly or unknowingly inspires others to imitate his or her persona. The role model may be a real person, such as a parent, or a symbolic character, such as one depicted in movies or television programs.
One who serves as an example for others by demonstrating the behavior associated with a particular social position or profession.
