Psorergates a genus of parasitic mites in the family Cheyletidae. Called also Psorobia spp. Psorergates bos found on cattle but there is no lesion. Psorergates oettlei (syn. Psorergates simplex) found on laboratory mice and rats. Psorergates ovis (syn. Psorobia ovis) causes a mild pruritus and scaly dermatitis on the body of sheep with some damage to the wool. Called also itch mite. Psorergates simplex see P. oettlei (above). |
