The state of being a hermaphrodite, i.e., having both male and female gonadal tissue.

intersexuality

an intermingling, in varying degrees, of the characters of each sex, including physical form, reproductive tissue and sexual behavior, in one animal, as a result of some flaw in embryonic development. See also hermaphroditism and pseudohermaphroditism.
