AIF1(redirected from Protein G1)
AIF1A gene on chromosome 6p21.3 that encodes allograft inflammatory factor 1, an actin-binding, cytokine- and interferon-induced protein that regulates proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, resulting in an anti-inflammatory response to vessel wall trauma.
• Enhances lymphocyte migration and actin-bundling activity of LCP1.
• Plays a role in RAC signalling, phagocytosis and in vascular inflammation.
• Promotes proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells and of T cells.
• May play a role in macrophage activation and function.
