Protein Drink A nutritional supplement drink which is particularly popular among body builders. Protein drinks are produced from various protein-rich sources including whey (high concentration of cysteine, which is important in glutathione biosynthesis), casein (high in glutamine, which is said to help muscle recovery and casomorphin, which has an opioid effect), soy (contains isoflavones which have a weak oestrogenic effect), egg whites (best for lactose-intolerance), and hemp (high in hemp oil which contains essential fatty acids).
