an antimalarial agent administered orally as the hydrochloride salt. Its use in the United States is limited because of the development of drug-resistant malarial parasites.

As far as chemoprophylaxis of malaria was concerned the application of chloroquine (300 mg) 1 x weekly + proguanil (200 mg) 1 x daily was effective.
Oral asi ile sitma profilaksisinde kullanilan proguanil, meflokin ve antibiotiklerin bir hafta ayrilmasini onermektedir (7,17).
