Primal Therapy

n.
A method of psychotherapy that encourages patients to identify and relive early traumatic experiences and to release anger and other painful emotions by aggressive behaviors such as screaming.

Primal therapy
A form of humanistic therapy that originated in the 1970s. Participants were encouraged to relive painful events and release feelings through screaming or crying rather than analysis.

Primal Scream Therapy
A type of psychotherapy based on the belief that many mental problems in adults are due to unresolved childhood conflicts, which are attributed to emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; the patient is encouraged to vent, and express emotional and mental pain by screaming
