Practice Plus accreditation

The formal recognition that a particular NHS organisation has achieved the Improving Working Lives Standard (IWLS). Practice Plus (PP) requires evidence of a cultural change with good human resource (HR) practice across all staff grades, and continued commitment to delivering modern working practices throughout the workforce as part of the ongoing journey to deliver “world class” services, supported by “world class staff”. PP is based on the IWLSs, the key features of which are comprehensive standards for the implementation of modern workforce policies that balance the needs of the patient and services with the needs of staff. These standards are complemented by effective and contemporary communications to raise awareness, share good practice and promote modern flexible working practices up to retirement.
