plasma renin assay (PRA),
a blood test that measures the rate of generation of angiotensin. The most commonly used renin assay, it is a screening procedure for detecting essential, renal, or renovascular hypertension, and it is also performed to diagnose and separate primary from secondary hyperaldosteronism.

Recently, the PRA initiated a review of hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Mohamed) which was well-received by Turkish society and reverberated beyond national borders.
PRA (Paint Research Association) and Pera (Production Engineering Research Association) have announced a merger agreement between the two organizations following an Extraordinary General Meeting of PRA Members, which was recently held in Hampton, Middlesex, UK.
In 2008 the government spent US$160 million monthly to implement the PRA in 150 neighborhoods.
