1. the act or process of turning or changing direction.
2. the situation of an organ or part in relation to an established normal position.
3. in gynecology, misalignment or tilting of the uterus.
4. in obstetrics, the manual turning of the fetus.
5. in opthalmology, rotation of the eyes in the same direction.

bimanual version  version by combined external and internal manipulation.
bipolar version  turning effected by acting upon both poles of the fetus, either by external or combined version.
cephalic version  turning of the fetus so that the head presents.
combined version  bimanual v.
external version  turning effected by outside manipulation.
internal version  turning effected by the hand or fingers inserted through the dilated cervix.
pelvic version  version by manipulation of the breech.
podalic version  conversion of a more unfavorable presentation into a footling presentation.
