Egoscue method

Bodywork
A technique for treating muscle pain and for training athletes to achieve their peak performance, developed in the 1970s by P Egoscue who, at the time, was recuperating from injuries sustained in Vietnam. The method places the responsibility of recuperation from pain and physical dysfunction on the individual. Egoscue believed that a main cause of disease is what he termed “motion starvation”—i.e., the relative lack of movement by people in developed nations; “low-motion” conditions believed to be helped by the Egoscue method are carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain, stiff neck and general lack of energy.
