an antihypertensive. indication It is used to treat hypertension. contraindications A history of angioedema and known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibit its use. adverse effects Life-threatening effects are agranulocytosis, neutropenia, proteinuria, and renal failure. Other adverse effects include chest pain, tachycardia, arrhythmias, syncope, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, colitis, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, rash, purpura, alopecia, hyperhidrosis, visual changes, double vision, dry burning eyes, increased frequency of polyuria or oliguria, rales, angioedema, and hyperkalemia.
