Pelger-Huët anomaly [pel′gər hyo̅o̅′ət] Etymology: Karel Pelger, Dutch physician, 1885-1931; G.J. Huët, Dutch physician, 1879-1970; Gk, anomalia, irregular an inherited disorder characterized by granulocytes with unusually coarse nuclear material and dumbbell-shaped or peanut-shaped nuclei. Normal nuclear segmentation does not seem to occur, but there are no associated findings. See also band. Pelger-Huët anomaly an anomaly, probably inherited, of neutrophils and eosinophils in which there is hyposegmentation of the nuclei. Seen rarely in dogs and cats with no clinical significance. pseudo-Pelger-Huët anomaly-H. a a transient hyposegmentation in neutrophils and eosinophils, usually from unknown causes.
