2. paramyxoviruses; a genus of viruses of the subfamily Paramyxovirinae (family Paramyxoviridae) that cause chiefly respiratory infections in a variety of vertebrate hosts.

Mexican blue eye. Paramyxovirus-like agents have also been associated with encephalomyelitis in domestic and large exotic Felidae.
