Common name for a species of monkey of the genus Cynocephalus, with a short tail and doglike head.
Old World monkeys in the genus Mandrillus. They are the ugliest and most brutal-looking of the monkeys, with brightly colored genital regions and buttocks. They are large, walk on all four limbs and are terrestrial in habit.
