panitumumab, a miscellaneous antineoplastic. indications This drug is used to treat metastatic colon cancer expressing epidermal growth factor receptor. contraindication Known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use. adverse effects Adverse effects of this drug include fatigue, ocular toxicity, peripheral edema, anorexia, mouth ulceration, abdominal pain, constipation, thrombophlebitis, pruritus, skin fissure, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, antibody formation, dyspnea, pneumonitis, and wheezing. Life-threatening side effects include exfoliative dermatitis, bronchospasm, cough, hypoxia, and pulmonary fibrosis. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and rash.
