Palmer notation

a system for designating teeth in which the mouth is divided into quadrants indicated by a right-angle symbol oriented right or left and up or down. The teeth in each quadrant are numbered from 1 to 8, starting with the central incisor and ending with the third molar. The system is no longer in general use.
