TAOK1

A gene on chromosome 17q11.2 that encodes a serine/threonine-protein kinase, which regulates the p38/MAPK14 stress-activated cascade, DNA damage response at the G2/M transition DNA damage checkpoint, and cytoskeleton stability. TAOK1 also regulates apoptosis by activating the MAPK8/JNK cascade. It is highly expressed in the testes.
