POU2F1

POU2F1

A gene on chromosome 1q24.2 that encodes a ubiquitous transcription factor which binds to and activates the promoters of genes for small nuclear RNAs (snRNA), as well as for histone H2B and immunoglobulins. It modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR.

SOX2 helped both proteins bind, but it helps POU2F1 more than POU5F1.
Only POU2F1 was found to be overrepresented among loci associated with both LINE-1 and AluYb8 methylation.
Specifically, POU2F1 binding sites were overrepresented among loci associated with both LINE- 1 and AluYb8 extent.
