phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP),
a ubiquitous protein having multiple functions in lipoprotein metabolism. In plasma, it plays an important role in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) metabolism by mediating the transfer of phospholipids from triglyceride-rich lipoproteins to HDL and the transfer of phospholipids between HDL molecules.
