PAAF1

A gene on chromosome 11q13.4 that encodes a ubiquitously expressed member of the WD-repeat protein family which inhibits proteasome 26S assembly and proteolytic activity by impairing the association of the 19S regulatory complex with the 20S core. PAAF1 interacts with HIV-1 Tat, and PSMC1 through -6. It is highly expressed in the kidneys, brain and testes.
