ketoprofen /ke·to·pro·fen/ (-pro´fen) a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug used in the treatment of various rheumatic and nonrheumatic inflammatory disorders, pain, dysmenorrhea, and vascular headaches.
ketoprofen [-prō′fən] a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic actions. indications It is prescribed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and other conditions causing mild to moderate pain. contraindications Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or to aspirin or other nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs prohibits its use. adverse effects Among the more serious adverse effects are GI disturbances, including peptic ulcer and GI bleeding; central nervous system effects of headache, dizziness, and drowsiness; and skin rash. ketoprofen [ke″to-pro´fen] a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug used in the treatment of various rheumatic and nonrheumatic inflammatory disorders, pain, dysmenorrhea, and vascular headaches; administered orally or rectally.
