Ornithodorus
a genus of soft-bodied ticks in the family Argasidae.

Ornithodorus coriaceus
found on cattle and deer. A vector of epizootic bovine abortion.
Ornithodorus erraticus
a possible vector of African swine fever.
Ornithodorus gurneyi
the kangaroo tick, a vector of Coxiella burnetii. Its bite can cause severe local and systemic reactions in humans.
Ornithodorus lahorensis
causes tick paralysis.
Ornithodorus moubata
a parasite of mammals, including humans, birds and reptiles. A vector of African swine fever and Q fever and possibly of Borrelia anserina and Aegyptianella pullorum in fowls.
Ornithodorus moubata porcinus (syn. Ornithodorus porcinus)
infests wart hog burrows and transmits African swine fever.
Ornithodorus puertoicensis
a possible transmitter of the African swine fever virus.
Ornithodorus savignyi
occurs on most domestic animals and may bite humans.
Ornithodorus turicata
a vector of Q fever, Theileria and Anaplasma spp., and a cause of tick paralysis.
