epoophoron [ep′ō·of′əron] Etymology: Gk, epi + oophoron, ovary a rudimentary structure that is situated in the mesosalpinx between the ovary and the uterine tube. The epoophoron is a persistent portion of the embryonic mesonephric duct. Also called parovarium. epoophoron a vestigial structure associated with the ovary; originates from the cranial mesonephric tubules and cysts of it may resemble ovarian cysts.
