Okazaki fragments
DNA sequences, 100 to 200 nucleotides long, synthesized on the lagging strand of DNA in DNA replication. The fragments are subsequently ligated together to form a continuous strand. They are produced because of the need for DNA polymerase to always synthesize in a 5' to 3' direction.
