n.pl an investigational method involving description of the associations be-tween interventions and outcomes. Outcomes research and practice audits are examples of this investigational method. For instance, during a practice audit, the outcomes produced by a sampling of patients who received a specific form of treatment may be monitored. An assessment is performed before and after a regimen of therapy is administered to compare and measure the effects.
