Nd, symbol for the element neodymium. ND Doctor of Nursing; a doctoral level program that leads to an entry-level nursing degree. Individuals with an academic baccalaureate degree complete three years or so of professional education leading to a Doctor of Nursing degree as the first professional degree. Students may then choose to continue their graduate education by pursuing either the degree of Doctor of Nursing Science (D.N.Sc.), a Ph.D. in nursing, or a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in nursing.
