A fanciful term for the fibrous sheath of the flexor tendons of the hand, specifically in the zone from the distal palmar crease to the proximal interphalangeal joint. Any tendon injury to the distal forearm, wrist or hand could be a ‘No Man’s land’ if
(1) The facilities and/or equipment are inadequate
(2) The operator is inexperienced or exhausted or
(3) The tendon is potentially damaged beyond salvage
