A term defined by the Convention on Biological Diversity (1993) as a geographically defined area which is designated or regulated and managed to achieve specific conservation objectives.
It is first protected as a National Park in 1938 but in 2000 it was reclassified as Natural Park by virtue of Proclamation 412 signed on November 21, 2000.
