Etymology: Gk, nanos, dwarf; Marie and Pierre Curie
a unit of radiation equal to one billionth of a curie. See also curie.

nanocurie (nCi) [nan´o-ku″re]
a unit of radioactivity, being one billionth (10−9) of a curie.

nanocurie
a non-SI unit of radioactivity, being 10−9 curie, or the quantity of radioactive material in which the number of nuclear disintegrations is 3.7 × 10, or 37, per second; abbreviated nCi. Now replaced by the becquerel.
