NAALAD2

A gene on chromosome 11q14.3-q21 that encodes an enzyme with N-acetylated-alpha-linked-acidic dipeptidase (NAALADase) and dipeptidyl-peptidase-IV-type activities. NAALAD2 inactivates N-acetylaspartylglutamate, a peptide neurotransmitter. It is highly expressed in the testes and is inhibited by quisqualate.
