n a single-visit endodontic technique better known as the
Sargenti technique, in which paraformaldehyde (a toxic chemical that can cause permanent tissue damage if not confined to the pulp chamber or root canal) is the principal ingredient in the endodontic paste. The technique is not approved by the Council on Dental Therapeutics, and it is not taught at any accredited dental school in the United States.
