Chrysanthemum
[krisan′thəməm] a genus of perennial flowering herbs of the family Compositae, native to the Balkans and the Middle East. They are a common cause of contact dermatitis, and their powdered flowers are insecticidal and scabicidal and a source of pyrethrins. Chrysanthemum plant genus in the family Asteraceae; contains sesquiterpene lactones; causes contact dermatitis. Garden plants called also feverfew, marguerite.
