Mountainbiking Association of Dublin's Morgan O'Connell got himself in gear and was given a push in the right direction by Miss Universe Ireland Diana Donnelly.
The Forestry Commission has invested some pounds 400,000 to develop this and other sites, with one aim, To make Wales into a world-class mountainbiking destination, according to Dafydd Davis, the commission''s forest-sports development adviser and an expert biker himself.
The route, which involves 8,000m of climbing, will take Richard through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors, from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire, across some of the most challenging mountainbiking terrain in the country.
