Morgagni's tubercle Etymology: Giovanni B. Morgagni one of several small soft nodules on the surface of each of the areolas in women. The tubercles are produced by large sebaceous glands just below the surface of the areolae. They secrete a bacteriostatic lubricating substance during pregnancy and lactation.
