Monstrocellular Astrocytoma

An older term for a morphologic variant of of high-grade astrocytoma—usually grade IV, less often grade III—which is characterised by abundant pleomorphic and bizarre tumour giant cells with eosinophilic intra- and extranuclear inclusions; it is very aggressive and has a poor prognosis.
