monoterpene (mäˈ·n·terˑ·pēn),
n a member of the terpene group; comprises two units of isoprene that are linked by two carbon atoms with a single bond. Its molecular formula is C10H8. It has been used as an antiseptic, stimulant, analgesic, decongestant, and expectorant.
