[-kəmpyo̅o̅′tər] a complete multiuse electronic digital computer system consisting of a central processing unit, storage facilities, input/output ports, and a chip or chips containing megabytes of high-speed internal storage. It is commonly designed for use by one person at a time, and it is the primary computing device for consumers. Also called personal computer.
