Melopsittacus undulatus the budgerigar. A mostly green with some yellow, small (3 to 4 inches long) psittacine bird with very affectionate ways. The most popular cage bird, it can be taught to speak. Domesticated birds have been bred to produce a great variety of colors, especially a powder blue. Called also love bird, but other species, especially Psittacula spp., probably have first call on the name. How to thank TFD for its existence?
