Medicare Select

Medicare Select

A managed care supplement plan for Medicare beneficiaries, which is designed to cover the gaps in coverage that occur with the original Medicare programs. Medicare beneficiaries may buy Medicare Supplement plans to pay for the extra expenses, but such plans can be expensive, especially for retired people living on a fixed income. Medicare Select plans offer more affordable supplement coverage by negotiating with a provider network of doctors, hospitals and specialists to charge less for their medical services, lowering the cost for the Medicare Select plan provider and the premiums for plan members.
