physician /phy·si·cian/ (fĭ-zish´in)
1. an authorized practitioner of medicine, as one graduated from a college of medicine or osteopathy and licensed by the appropriate board; see also doctor.
2. one who practices medicine as distinct from surgery.

physician assistant  one who has been trained in an accredited program and certified by an appropriate board to perform certain of a physician's duties, including history taking, physical examination, diagnostic tests, treatment, and certain minor surgical procedures, all under the responsible supervision of a licensed physician. Abbreviated P.A.
attending physician 
1. a physician who has admitting privileges at a hospital.
2. the physician with primary responsibility for the care of a patient in a particular case.
emergency physician  a specialist in emergency medicine.
family physician  a medical specialist who plans and provides the comprehensive primary health care of all members of a family, regardless of age or sex, on a continuous basis.
resident physician  a graduate and licensed physician receiving training in a specialty, usually in a hospital.

Etymology: Gk, physikos, natural
a health professional who has earned a degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) after completing an approved course of study at an approved medical school. Satisfactory completion of National Board Examinations, usually given during both the second and the final years of medical school and after graduation, is also required. An M.D. usually enters a hospital internship or residency program for at least 2 years of postgraduate training before beginning practice or further training in a specialty. To practice medicine, an M.D. is required to obtain a license from the state in which professional services will be performed. See also osteopath.

Q. Can I diagnose breast cancer without doctor?

A. Then it is time mrfoot56 that you read the thousands of testimonies from persons cured by vitamin B17 from cancer. The prove will never come, because your authorities don't want them. Write them and ask them why they don't want to analyse vitamin B17 and tell us here their answer.

Q. How do doctors find out if a tumor is malignant? What procedure is done to see if a tumor is malignant? Is a simple MRI enough to make that conclusion?

A. It depends on what type of tumor- what organ is involved and how big is it. Sometimes a simple blood test can show high levels of tumor markers and sometimes just the shape and size of it on CT or MRI can hint that it is a malignant tumor. However, the final answer can only be by biopsy or removal of the tumor and microscopic tests (that's the pathology work-up the doctors send).

Q. Doctor knows? what can happen to people suffering from severe cases of bipolar symptoms, if they have sensitivity to medicine and it has a reverse affect on them? The doctor does not know.

A. My partner has a sensitivity to medications and lithium almost pushed her over the edge... her meds had to be changed and she had to be monitored while the change was happening. There are plenty of differnt options with medications to treat bipolar... if you are being treated by your gp, ask to see a psychiatrist. A gp's knowledge of mental health is probably very limited...
