Manchester terrier
a small (12-22 lb), compact dog with a very short, black coat and mahogany markings on specified areas of the body, but generally on the face and legs. The 'candle-flame' shaped ears are v-shaped and folded over the head, which is long and wedge-shaped, and the tail is short and tapered. Sometimes called the Rat terrier, Black and tan terrier.
A variety weighing less than 12 lb is recognized in the United States and called the Toy Manchester, the English version is called the Black and tan toy terrier; called also English Toy Terrier.
