FABP3

A gene on chromosome 1p33-p32 that encodes a fatty acid-binding protein thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. FABP3 plays a role in arresting growth of mammary epithelial cells and is a candidate tumour suppressor gene for breast cancer.
